Verfeuil and Le Pin are ideal starting points for excursions, hikes, long walks and city tours
E.g. to Avignon, Nimes, Orange, Pont-Saint-Esprit, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, L’Isle-su-la-Sorgue, Chateauneuf-du-Pape for wine lovers. The most famous wine-growing region in France (for rosé) is called “Tavel” and is not far away.
You only need 20 minutes after “Uzès”. A former papal seat. It is worth visiting the former ducal palace (Le Duché). Life pulsates in Uzés, especially on Saturday – the big market day. You just have to see it and be there.
Only a few kilometers (from Verfeuil 10 minutes), (from Le Pin 20 minutes) is the place “Goudarques”, which is rightly called “Little Venice ”. In the summer months with countless restaurants; all located on a small river and often with live music. Gérard Depardieu bought Jean Carmet’s house there to set up a Carmet museum.
The next larger town is called “Bagnols-sur-Cèze” and can be reached in 15 – 20 minutes (from Le Pin: 10 minutes)
There are beautiful markets on:
Thursday: Aiguèze (located directly on the Ardèche river). But only from 15.06. until 15.09.
Also in orange all year round.
Friday: Barjac (also known for its antique markets)
Saturday: Uzès (indescribable, you just have to see it).
Also in Chateau-Renard.
And in L`Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (a well-known artist’s place with many antique markets and antique shops).
Sunday: small but nice in Laudun
